SDSU’s colleges are made up of different Departments that are affiliated with various major and minor degree programs. For example, the Fowler College of Business consists of the Accountancy, Business Administration, Finance, Management, Management Information Systems and Marketing Departments.[1]

The Imperial Valley Campus does not have colleges, the campus has Academic Divisions comparable to the San Diego Campus’s Departments. The three divisions are Arts and Sciences, Education, and Professional Studies. Similar to Departments, each division offers specialized major programs such as English, Mathematics, Criminal Justice and Public Health. Departments may be identified by text/string or by numeric code.[2]
