A Major is a student's primary major degree program, option, concentration, or emphasis in which the student is currently enrolled. Pre-majors must meet the major requirements that are in effect at the time they declare the major

CO Major Equivalent to HEGIS Major. Aerospace Engineering (09021)
HEGIS Major A 5 digit CSU-wide code which identifies a student’s primary major degree program, option, concentration, or emphasis in which the student has applied, been admitted, and/or been enrolled. Aerospace Engineering (09021)
SIMS Major A 6 digit code used in the prior Student Information Management System (SIMS) that has now converted to Academic Plan code. Aerospace Engineering (441001)
Academic Plan A 9-to-10-digit code that identifies the student's primary major degree program, degree type, and campus of enrollment. Aerospace Engineering (441001BSS)

"In the primary ERSD file, a code which identifies the major area of study for which a degree was conferred. In the supplementary ERSD file, a code which identifies additional major areas of study for which a degree was conferred."[1]
