Total GPA

Total GPA is an individual student's cumulative grade point average based on all courses attempted at SDSU and transferable courses at other universities, liberal arts colleges, and community colleges. This is the quotient of total grade points and total units attempted for a letter grade (i.e., the sum of campus units and transfer units completed for a letter grade).

Logical Transformation/Calculation

Total GPA = Weighted Total Grade Points / Total Units Attempted

Examples

  • Students with a Total GPA of A have a 89% predicted probability of Graduating from SDSU department in 5 years.
  • Students with a Total GPA of B have a 72% predicted probability of Graduating in STEM department in 6 years.
  • Students with a Total GPA of A- have a 83% predicted probability of Graduating in MECHANICAL ENGINEERING department in 6 years.
