Student Category

Student Category, as used on the Common Data Set[1], is derived using cohort type and student level, identifying different categories for undergraduate (including second bachelor's) students and graduate (including credential) students.

Examples[edit | edit source]

Undergraduate Student Categories include:

  • 1 - Degree-seeking, first-time freshmen
  • 2 - Other first-year, degree-seeking
  • 3 - All other degree-seeking

Graduate Student Categories include:

  • 4 - Degree-seeking, first-time
  • 5 - All other degree-seeking
  • 6 - All other graduates enrolled in credit courses
