Graduation Major

From SDSU Data Glossary
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Graduation Major, also known as Major at Graduation, refers to a student's major at graduation. Students continue to be counted for retention and graduation reporting in whatever major they declared at matriculation, regardless of whether or not they may have subsequently changed their major.

Examples

If a student declared "Biology" as their major in their matriculation term and subsequently changed their major and graduated with a major in "Psychology", the student would still appear with "Biology" as their Entry Major in retention and graduation reporting. However, in the Cohort Analysis Report Builder Dashboards, their Graduation Major would appear as "Psychology" and their Entry Major would appear as "Biology".
