Disqualification Rate After Year 1 is the proportion of new undergraduates who have been disqualified from the university at the end of their first matriculation year. Denominator is equal to the total number of students from entry cohort. In the ASIR Dashboards, Disqualification Rate After Year 1 may be abbreviated to % DQ Yr1 or % Year 1 DQ.

Logical Transformation/Calculation[edit | edit source]

Disqualification Rate After Year 1 = (Number of students disqualified after year 1 / Cohort headcount) * 100.

Examples[edit | edit source]

For example, if there are 4,000 first-time freshmen enrolled at the end of their first year and 150 of those students are on Academic Disqualification (DQ):

Disqualification Rate After Year 1 = (150 / 4,000) x 100 = 3.8%
