Continuation/Graduation Rate

Continuation/Graduation Rate (% Cont Grad), also known as Persistence Rate, represents the proportion of a student cohort that is still enrolled, or that has graduated, from the same university as undergraduates in a specified time period after matriculation. The convention at the CSU is to define persistence as the opposite of attrition. Persistence Rate = Graduation Rate + Continuation Rate, where the graduation rate represents cumulative proportions. Therefore, when reference is made to how many students are persisting to degree, the focus is on the proportion of students that have earned a degree or are still making progress toward degree attainment.

Logical Transformation/Calculation[edit | edit source]

Continuation/Graduation Rate = Continuation Rate + Graduation Rate.

Examples[edit | edit source]
